Can OpenOffice.org Base use Microsoft Access databases (.mdb) ?
Modified On 04/07/2008

On Windows: yes right now, Other OSes, supported by OpenOffice.org, require the MDBtools library that is in development and has not been released at the time of preparing this item.

So under Windows, while you cannot open them directly via File > Open, you can access the data. For this, you need the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC), which are available from Microsoft for free. NOTE: Windows XP already includes these.

Use File > New > Database to start.
Choose "Connect to an existing datbase"
Select the "Microsoft Access" database type from the list.
On the next page, select the .mdb file you want to access
